Dressing your boys!

As mothers of boys we know finding cute and classic clothing can be challenging. Here are some tips for dressing your big or little boy (12 months and up)! Click on the links and photos to see more!

Cute can be comfortable...
Boys can be picky when comes to what they will wear, with them it seems comfort is key. As moms, we understand you still want your son to look cute and memorable and maybe ditch the sweatpants, athletic apparel, and graphic tees for your photos/events. So check out some of the super soft and comfy options below.

J.CREW has a great look book with lots of classic looks that we think your boy/s will love, and can be used over and over again for holidays, weddings and more.

Gap Kids has many cute options at great prices. We love the pull overs and boots featured below.

Accessories aren't just for girls!
Cute hats, scarfs and boots can be found almost anywhere.

Target has super cute hat and mitten sets starting at $9.99. A super inexpensive way to create another look!

Gap Kids always has tons of cool accessories like this furry ear flap hat and these warm yet cute sherpa boots!

Layer!
Layering can be a moms best friend for shoots with small children, also for shoots where outfit changes aren't an option. A blazer or fall coat can be worn for the 1o minutes of a shoot then removed creating a whole new look with the outfit underneath! Pullovers, sweaters, flannels, henleys, hoodies and blazers can pretty much all be mix and matched to make stylish, trendy and comfortable outfits for boys!

The Children's Place offers many more casual yet sporty pieces. Like the pull overs featured below.

The Children's Place formal sweaters perfect when paired with jeans and boots.
The Children's Place also offer this super inexpensive corduroy blazer to make a casual outfit dressed up for a few shots.

Layering tee's and hoodies can be found almost anywhere (just make sure they a fitted). Here are a few of our favorites found at J.CREW

OshKosh B'gosh offers some of the softest and most comfortable flannels we've found. Great under pull overs, blazers or by themselves.

Lastly we love this cable knits pull over sweater from Gap Kids. Its super warm, soft and extremely comfortable! Perfect for November and December outdoor shoots.

All these looks can be found at Gap Kids, J.CREW, Osh Kosh, Target & The Children's Place!
Good luck & happy hunting!

Maya, Elias & Hannah

One of the last gorgeous fall afternoons this year we spent with these adorable children at Minnehaha Falls. Maya a patient and helpful big sister along with a goofy Elias and giggly Hannah had a great time running around the falls, hanging out by the water and discovering bridges. Maya 11 years old, Elias 8 years and Hannah 5 years got along so well for their shoot and were the perfect group to explore such a beautiful place.

Grace, Wrigley, Bella & Audrey

What a great bunch! We spent a beautiful fall afternoon with 8 year old triplets Wrigley, Bella, and Audrey and their 11 year old big sister Grace. The shoot was filled with fun including a game of hide and seek, a couple big toothless grins and many hilarious family moments. This family made us laugh until the very last shot!!! p.s. they share our love for classic black and white photos so we are celebrating with an all B&W blog!
